Rutting Performance of Nano-Silica-Modified C320 Bitumen

Nanomaterials exhibit novel properties and profound attributes as an additive in asphalt binder modification. However, the application of nano-silica binders mixture modification is still limited, further research required. Along these lines, this work, with a content from 2% to 8% increment was utilized modifying bitumen type C320, which considered most conventional used Western Australia road mixtures. Various tests were performed assess their properties, including complex shear modulus, penetration, softening point, multiple stress creep recovery (MSCR) test. The extracted results revealed increase strength stiffness by lowering improving increasing modulus all nano-silica-modified samples. Interestingly, much leads higher rutting resistance. resistance affected size coated silane coupling agent. ideal sample C320 determined NS-15 nm (NS-A), can improve about 7.1 kPa. In current study, penetration point using 6–8% NS-A resulted relatively significant improvement up 45% comparison non-modified binders.
